P0107 — MAP Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
CAUTIONIs it safe to drive? Driveable in most cases but the ECU is flying blind on load — fuel delivery will be wrong and stalling under load is possible.
What P0107 means
The MAP sensor signal wire is reading below 0.3V, which is below the minimum credible vacuum reading. The ECU sees this as an open circuit or shorted sensor.
Most likely causes (in order)
- Unplugged or loose MAP sensor connector (check first — free)
- Short to ground in the signal wire between sensor and ECU
- Failed MAP sensor (signal wire shorted internally)
- Corrosion or water intrusion in the connector
- Wiring harness damage near the intake manifold (heat exposure)
Symptoms you might notice
- Check engine light on
- Engine runs rich (black smoke possible)
- Poor power under load
- Rough idle
- May fail emissions test
What to check first
Backprobe the signal wire at the sensor connector with a voltmeter — if you see 0V with key on engine off, disconnect the sensor; if voltage rises to ~5V with sensor unplugged, the sensor itself is shorted. If it stays at 0V, the fault is in the wiring between sensor and ECU.
