P0352 — Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit
CAUTIONIs it safe to drive? Same as P0351 — cylinder B will likely be misfiring; get it fixed soon, especially if the CEL is flashing.
What P0352 means
Coil B circuit fault detected. The ECM didn't see the expected voltage waveform back from ignition coil B when it commanded a spark event. Could be the coil, the connector, or the wiring between the ECM and the coil.
Most likely causes (in order)
- Coil-on-plug unit failed
- Connector corroded or broken pin
- Spark plug worn and causing coil to overwork
- Wiring harness chafed or shorted
- ECM coil driver circuit (diagnose everything else first)
Symptoms you might notice
- rough idle
- hesitation
- misfire on associated cylinder
- CEL on or flashing
What to check first
Check coil primary resistance with a multimeter — most COP coils measure 0.5–2 ohms primary. An open or short reading confirms a failed coil before you pull it off the car.
