P1320 — Ignition Signal Circuit Malfunction

CAUTIONIs it safe to drive? Drive gently and get it looked at soon — it can worsen or fail inspection.

What P1320 means

This is a manufacturer-specific code — its meaning depends on the vehicle’s make (see below).

What P1320 means on specific makes

Nissan / Infiniti CAUTION

Fault in the ignition (primary) signal circuit — the ECM isn't seeing proper feedback from the ignition coils/power transistor. A very common Nissan misfire/no-start contributor (especially older coil-on-plug Maxima/Altima/Frontier).

  1. Failed ignition coil(s) ($30-100 each)
  2. Coil power transistor / ignition module
  3. Worn spark plugs
  4. Coil connector/wiring fault

Check first: Check coils and plugs; swap a coil to see if a misfire follows. Bad coils are the dominant cause of P1320 on Nissans.
