This is a manufacturer-specific code — its meaning depends on the vehicle’s make (see below).

What P2006 means on specific makes

Mercedes-Benz CAUTION

Generic code but a hallmark Mercedes issue: the intake manifold runner (swirl/tumble flaps) is stuck. On M272/M273 and many MB engines this is the plastic intake manifold flap actuator/links failing. Often appears with P2004/P2005.

  1. Failed intake manifold flap actuator/motor or broken linkage ($200-600 manifold)
  2. Broken/disconnected swirl flap lever
  3. Carbon binding the flaps
  4. Vacuum actuator failure (older diesels)

Check first: Inspect the intake manifold flap actuator and linkage. On M272/M273 the whole intake manifold is often replaced. Confirm flaps move freely.
