P0755 — Shift Solenoid B Malfunction
CAUTIONIs it safe to drive? Shift solenoid B has a problem. Which gears are affected depends on your make — the trans may skip gears or go into limp mode.
What P0755 means
Same principles as P0750 but for solenoid B. The affected gears differ by transmission design; on many common automatics B controls overlapping gear combinations. Dirty fluid is the most common trigger.
Most likely causes (in order)
- Dirty or burnt transmission fluid
- Failed shift solenoid B
- Wiring or connector fault
- Valve body debris or wear
Symptoms you might notice
- Limp mode
- Missing or incorrect upshift
- Flare on shift
What to check first
Fluid service first. If it recurs, test solenoid B resistance (typically 11-30 ohms). Command it with a scanner and watch for a gear change — no change with good resistance = mechanical or valve body.
