What P1456 means on specific makes

Honda / Acura SAFE

EVAP leak detected on the fuel-tank side of the system. The classic first suspect is a loose or worn gas cap; otherwise a tank-side seal or the fuel tank pressure sensor.

  1. Loose/faulty gas cap (check FIRST, ~$15)
  2. Fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor
  3. Tank-side hose/seal leak

Check first: Tighten/replace the gas cap and clear; if it returns, smoke-test the tank side and check the FTP sensor. Very common on Hondas.
