What P1457 means on specific makes

Honda / Acura SAFE

The PCM detected an evaporative emissions leak traced to the canister side of the EVAP system. Emissions/leak code only — drives fine, but will fail emissions and may cause a fuel smell.

  1. Cracked/disconnected EVAP hoses or canister ($20-150)
  2. Faulty canister vent valve
  3. Leaking two-way valve

Check first: Smoke-test the EVAP system focusing on the charcoal canister, vent valve, and hoses under the car. P1456 is the same leak on the fuel-tank side.
