U0155 — Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster
CAUTIONIs it safe to drive? The instrument cluster isn't talking on the network. Gauges may go dark or read wrong — driveable with care but you lose important readouts.
What U0155 means
The instrument cluster gets most of its data (speed, RPM, temp, fuel) from the CAN bus. A cluster that goes offline can show blanked or frozen gauges. Check fuses and power/ground before assuming the cluster is dead.
Most likely causes (in order)
- Blown cluster fuse or lost power/ground
- CAN bus wiring fault to the cluster
- Corroded cluster connector
- Failed instrument cluster

- Blank or frozen gauges
- Speedometer/tach dead
- Multiple gauge faults
What to check first
Check cluster fuses (some clusters have their own). Verify power, ground, and CAN continuity at the cluster connector. A cluster reading zero for everything at once is almost always power/ground.
